Positive Posted February 18, 2014 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Grades: Anatomy-A Physiology-B Micro-B General Chem-B My most recent math calculus -C English-B Sociology-A Psychology-A I am currently a third semester nursing student (RN). I will complete my studies in Dec. I've passed all my nursing courses with C's thus far. Will this hurt my chances of getting in to the PA program? I am currently employed at San Francisco County Hospital as a Surgical Technologist for the last 2 years. I assist the surgeon take care of the patient intraoperative. I passed all my surgical training courses with all A's. Volunteer experience: I have volunteered at San Francisco County Hospital for 6 month in the ER. I have also organized and led food drives for needy families during the holidays. Currently I am looking to find a preceptor/mentor that will allow me to shadow him/her. amayoung89 Posted March 26, 2014 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Most students in our class didn't take a math course as high as Calculus, so I wouldn't sweat the C too much. Outside of getting a better grasp of pharmacokinetics, there was little application of calculus in our studies. From what you have listed, your experience as a surgical tech will be heavily weighed.
