SoCalPA Posted July 29, 2015 Share Posted July 29, 2015 I never know how to feel about pa residencies at level 1/academic hospitals that also house physician residencies. I have heard from many PA residents that they have to compete with the physician residents and end up not getting many procedures. Bgerali Posted August 8, 2015 Share Posted August 8, 2015 I'm starting this program in October. But from what I know, the issue of competing with physician residents is not a problem with this program. The trauma team works closely with the EM physicians and residents, but the PA/NP resident is often the one running the trauma, doing procedures, and assisting in the OR.
