Is admission to the NP Program the Same as to the PA Program?

Recommended Posts

Curious, as I am an RN and may apply to the UC Davis FNP Program. Is the application process and competitiveness the same as for the PA program? Is it the same admissions process for both?

Typically, NP programs are easier to get into than PA programs, so I wonder if that's the case at UC Davis as well. And since once accepted you can decide to do the dual track, is getting accepted to the NP program a "back door" to the PA program?

Yes, but this make it seems as if you get into the FNP school, as long as you meet eligiblity requirements, you can do the dual track.

The application is the same and at Davis, at least in our cycle, there are a lot more PA students as opposed to NP. You are competing against all other applicants for a spot in the class. From what they have said to us, there are no spots set aside for any particular track. That may make the program slightly more difficult to get into as you are competing against a hoarde of PA applicants. Hope this helps.
