Moderator True Anomaly Posted June 8, 2013 Moderator Share Posted June 8, 2013 As with everything, it's state-dependent, but here in Penn I certainly can order inpatient PT and write a rx for outpatient PT
Guest Paula
I am working at Michigan, and was told that PA cannot Rx physical therapy, only MD or DO can, is it true? I work in Michigan and order PT frequently. I have never been told I can't and will continue. PT sends me their notes addressed to me when the patient has finished their treatment. I work in a small FQHC in the UP.

springpearl
Thank you very much for all of your responses. Now I don't have to ask my SP co-sign the PT script. I was told by a NP in our office that we as mid-level providers, cannot write PT script.
