Can PA Rx physical therapy?

As with everything, it's state-dependent, but here in Penn I certainly can order inpatient PT and write a rx for outpatient PT

I work in Michigan and order PT frequently. I have never been told I can't and will continue. PT sends me their notes addressed to me when the patient has finished their treatment. I work in a small FQHC in the UP.

That law changed three or so years ago, we are allowed to order PT, ARNPs cannot.

Yes. In sports med I write for PT.

In family practice, I send probably 2 patients to PT in an average day.

Thank you very much for all of your responses. Now I don't have to ask my SP co-sign the PT script. I was told by a NP in our office that we as mid-level providers, cannot write PT script.

Yes, you can, the NP cannot.

 

Michigan changed that law.
