Paramedic
Good it seem you have joined the ranks. Prepare to dwell upon receiving a phone call all day. Are you applying to other schools? Do you live near g-ville
villa6
Since UF is 1:14 accept ratio anyways, I'm curious ratio wise...how many of you used a physician as a reference? I've always worked with PAs & very little with MDs, so I wasn't able to use one.
GreatChecko
I used a physician, however, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You want good recommendations, not just the MD title and a generic letter that says nothing about you.

GreatChecko
Sometimes PA school is about trusting the process, even if you don't know what's going on. The calls will come, hang in there! UF is well worth the wait!
Latina PA
How strict is UF on their direct hands on experience? I have a strong application and good GPA, but only have about a hundred and fifty hours of clerical experience in a medical setting. Is it worth it for me to apply? Has anyone gotten in with less than they require?

Has anyone gotten in with less than they require? I've never been on an AdCom, but UF's applicant pool is highly competitive. So I think it's less a function of UF and more who you are competing against. You can apply, but I fear it would be a waste of money. 1 year of direct patient care experience and you would have a much better shot. There is no magic job either, the backgrounds vary immensely, it's more about what you do. UF wants people with hands on experience and I highly recommend that you find a way to get it. It makes a huge difference when your feet are on the ground and you are asked to digest the massive amount of information at an incredibly fast pace that is PA school. amylynne914
Hey guys, I completed and submitted my supplemental application and residency affidavit prior to submitting my CASPA application. Is this okay?
woodsters
Amy - it doesn't matter what order you did them in as long as you followed the directions on the UF website about submitting the supplemental for "professional school". Be sure to print off the supplemental and mail it in to the program. Good luck.
