tgobbs Posted March 12, 2013 Hi guys, i just wanted to get a feel for how my application is as i am looking at applying to the red rocks pa program in colorado. Please any constructive comments on how to improve are welcome. Here are my stats. Undergrad gpa (finance degree) is around 3.8, graduated magna cum laude Pre-req gpa is similar. Only B of all the prereq classes is in O-chem, everything else A or A+ Additional courses I have are biochem -B, ochem 1 and 2 -B, ochem labs -A, i have 6 credits physics -A, 8 biology (including genetics) -A, and 8 credits A and P with human cadaver lab -A. I have 8 credits chemistry -A and blah blah blah. I also have a gre score (don't know if they ask) of 330 (165 and 165 with 4 on writing). I do not have a cpr certification, but can get that i guess. I have about 2300 hours in a hopital working check-in at peds urgent care. I transport patients to radiology as well and recenly have been doing height/weight measurements as well. I have bout 100 hours in OR with a plastic surgeon, and some time shadowing a retinal specialist. Coulple years community service with a little bro (big brothers big sisters) and few other things here and there. Soo yeah, i don't know. I am not an emt or nurse or anything. But I do see all the patients before they enter the clinic where i work. I live out of state but want to apply to a few schools to increase my chances of getting in and I love colorado!
BillyMadisonPA Posted March 27, 2013 As long as your statement rocks and your letters of rec shine, you should be pretty solid and may very well be offered an interview. They do not ask about the GRE. Good luck!

aredstone Posted April 3, 2013 I couldn't agree more. I think that it is much more based on your statement and your reasons for pursuing a PA education. The rest is just showing that you can withstand the educational demands of the program.
