Mandithatsme Posted February 21, 2013 I have applied to a program (mid october, last letter of recommendation was received in December), and I interviewed early January but I have not heard anything back yet. The program starts in the beginning of May. I am going to have to move to attend this program (if I get accepted, fingers crossed). Is this about normal for PA schools, finding out so clowe to the start date? Its almost March, so that only leaves around two months left before the program begins. I feel like I need to atart looking at housing options, but I dont want to jump the gun. Thanks!
Mandithatsme Posted February 21, 2013 Author Could calling and asking look negative? I do not want to hurt my chances of getting in from being impatient.
Andreasmo Posted February 21, 2013 Don't give your name if you can help it. Just call and ask when they expect to make their decisions
GatorRRT Posted February 21, 2013 If its been > than 1 month, give them a call. If anything, it shows interest in the program. Just make sure you're polite on the phone.
sartort Posted February 22, 2013 Be polite on the phone or in an e-mail and let them know who you are. You want them to know you are very interested. The programs that accepted me all called within about a week, but I know some programs wait until they finish all their interviews before they decide. They could also be formulating an alternate list. The reason I say to let them know who you are is because they could be considering you and if you show more interest than another applicant that could work in your favor.
