housing

Recommended Posts

So I have been accepted to USC for the incoming class of 2016. I'm trying to get advice on housing. I am contemplating buying or renting and am a little overwhelmed. I have met with a realtor, and have gotten a better feel of the surrounding areas of the campus, but wanted to get some advice from current students. Are you renting? How close to school did you end up? If you're farther away, is affordability worth the commute? Are there any good resources you would recommend? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!!!

Hello Julapi,

Congratulations on getting accepted! There is a Facebook group that you might want to join if you are looking for people to room with. Most people that rent live fairly close to school so South Pasadena, Alhambra, etc. Some people come in from the Westside of LA. Others commute from further away. If you are in the market to buy a house (congratulations!). That is a big decision and I encourage you to think about where you want to be in 10 + years. You can also call the program and see what they recommend.

I commute from Long Beach, and it was rough in the beginning, but now I do not mind it. There are people that come from further away. You can PM me if you have more questions.
