JohnFerguson
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone could provide examples of supervisory agreements for those practicing in General Surgery. I am switching specialties after practicing at an Urgent Care facility and would appreciate any input. Also, if you are aware of resources with sample supervisory agreements specific to specialty, I would be of most interest as well. Thanks.
Febrifuge
I believe this is a state-by-state thing. And I think it's pretty standardized. My state has the forms available at the Board of Medical Practice site. The supervising MD just ticks boxes next to everything the PA will be doing for the practice. andersenpa
Some are not so detailed and allow the PA to describe longhand what they will be doing. We leave is broad- "PA cares for patients on the surgical service"...."PA performs all duties delegated by the sponsoring/supervising physician"...etc.... Once you get specific about what you CAN do there will be hundreds of things they tell you that you CAN'T do.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted December 22, 2012 Moderator Share Posted December 22, 2012 my best agreement ever was this: "PA will care for patients presenting with ambulatory, urgent, and emergent complaints." that was in 1999. I don't think I could get that by any medical board today.
