So I ran into the hospital chief medical officer in the hall yesterday and he said " hey emedpa, stop by my office before your shift tomorrow"...um, ok.

No, I wasn't fired. He wanted to talk to me about recruiting and retaining PAs and NPs at the hospital.

Changes that we discussed, which he will change ASAP:

Physician Lounge to be renamed Medical Staff Lounge

RX and other hospital forms which all have MD on signature line will say Provider signature

Hospitalist positions previously advertised as NP hospitalist will be changed to say PA or NP hospitalist.

Recruitment for PA/NP/CRNA staff will be the same as MD/DO with tour of the town, take folks to dinner, pay for travel, etc

A quarterly dinner for all PA/NP/CRNA staff will be paid for by the hospital at a local restaurant venue to improve communication between clinicians, the clinics, and the hospital.

A PA/NP/CRNA position on the medical executive committee will be created.

small victories. I will take them.
