Lfbernal Posted October 25, 2023 Hello, I am wondering if an MD psychiatrist Can be my supervising doctore for primary care? I May be doing a part time job in a primary care setting and I already have a psychiatric supervising doctor for my psychiatric job. This is contract work and they don’t offer a supervising doctor but they require me to have one. This would be in Florida FYI. Thank you. Quote
sas5814 Posted October 25, 2023 It will vary based on state law but, generally, the SP cannot delegate something that isn't in their scope of practice. States vary wildly. Here in Texas a physician can do just about anything they want within reason. My first SP after I retired from the Army was a pediatrician who didn't like peds so he opened an allergy practice and supervised me in primary care/rural health. Your mileage may vary. Quote
