EMEDPA said something in another thread that is probably worthwhile to discuss separately:

What do you keep in your everyday, goes-with-you kit for responding to medical emergencies?

In my backpack, I have a large BP cuff, nice stethoscope, tourniquet, boo-boo pack (or two, I snag 'em from vendors at conferences), a couple pairs of exam gloves and an assorted mix of OTC acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and naproxen. When I'm not flying, a multi-tool or two.

In the car, I have a full-on BLS kit with an oxygen cylinder. Don't have an AED, though.

So what does anyone carry uniquely that helps you respond to emergencies?

I keep it simple, tourniquet, bottle of epi 1:1000 and a syringe for anaphylaxis and a bottle of tetracain.  All in my glove box. Typically have some leather chore gloves under the seat incase there's something sharp like glass.

When I 1st responded for my FD, I carried O2, nebs, epi, D50, IVF, etc.  I've not done that for awhile, so mostly I just carry gloves & a stethoscope, C collars (in my car), and bandaging supplies.  I do have local anesthetics and supplies for suturing and foreign body removals at home (kids, grandkids, soon to be great grandkids ...)

Have a TK, various pressure dressings, hemostatic gauze, gloves, steth, chest dart, cric kit in the car, as well as my EDC knife and some trauma shears.  Used to have IV fluid, but I live in Manitoba, so 2/3 of the year the stuff would freeze if car parked outside.
