WA state PA collaborative practice law submitted - we need your support! -

Recommended Posts

Read about the bill here

The WA state PA collaborative practice law has been submitted by Rep. Marcus Riccelli. It’s HB 1310 and is submitted to the House Health Care and Wellness committee to be discussed. We need this committee to pass the bill for it to move forward.

These are action items to support HB 1310:

You can do one, all, or none.

  1. Provide your contact information to the WAPA lobbyist to note your support of the bill. This will be submitted to the Health and Wellness Committee. Email Chelsea Hager the WAPA lobbyist at chelsea@insightstrategicpartners.com. Title the email “support HB 1310” and include your name, address, email, and phone number.
  2. Write a letter to members of the Health and Wellness Committee in support of this bill. Here is a template. These letters are stronger if you take a few minutes to edit and add some personalization. Share your background and why you’re invested in this bill. You can also quickly send a comment about the bill here.
  3. Attend PAs on the hill on Thursday February 2nd– attend in person or virtually. To make an appointment to attend, email Amy ASAP at wapa@wapa.com

Any of these items can also be completed by a PA, physician, family member, community member, patient, patient advocate, healthcare worker etc that you know so please share with your community network.

Any updates on whats going on about this bill now?

Oops! Sorry I missed this in my email.

As rev ronin reported: it had the public hearing. over 500 people signed in pro for it, which is great! there was a lot of support, but unfortunately WSMA is opposing it. It is still in committee. WAPA has submitted a companion bill to the senate. SB5633.

PAs on the hill day was today : we met with legistlators to talk about the bill and again, got pretty good responses.

NOW our action item is to contact the members of the healthcare and wellness committee urging them to pass this bill through executive session to the floor.

You can find the committee members here and choose one or two (or all of them!) to write a letter to.
