Ways to get patient contact experience

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if this has already been addressed elsewhere.

I'm wondering what are some ways to get patient contact experience? Specifically, ways that don't require a certification - money is an issue, and the EMT/phlebotomy/etc courses are expensive for me, so I'm wondering if there are other ways that would not cost any money to get the direct patient contact experience? I don't mind volunteering to do it - I just want to get this experience. Thanks for any help!

Where do you live? Some hospitals hire patient care techs on the floor (NOT in ER) without any experience or certifications, besides CPR. Try to look online or go directly to the hospital and ask. I only know about it because my hospital did that.
