2022-2023 Application Cycle

Recommended Posts

Applied on 6/3 second level eval on 10/3

10/6 Just got my rejection :-((( sad

but honestly was kind of a stretch for me because I haven’t taken orgo yet 😕

stats wise I got a 303 on the GRE with a perfect score on the writing (idk how I did that honestly)

science gpa I think I’m a 3.5 ish? But again haven’t taken orgo and am currently in Chem 2!
regular gpa is 3.7

Bachelors degree in sociology from UF

2k patient care hours working in a dermatology clinic as a medical assistant and letters of rec from all 4 providers i work with (2MDs, 1 DNP, 1 ARNP)

Oh well. There’s always next cycle!!!! 🙂
thinking about getting my EMT cert in my next year off and definitely going to take orgo to be more competitive!

And if anyone has any recs for anything I should do during my gap year or anything to strengthen my application I would super appreciate any advice! 🙂
also considering retaking the GRE!

good luck to everyone still in consideration!!! I’m rooting for you!!!! 🙂

Hi, just had a question about the dress code. The email says business casual for Monday and to wear comfortable shoes. I do plan on wearing slacks/pants and a button down, but did anyone wear tennis shoes as comfortable shoes, or did you wear comfortable "dress" shoes? Thank you!

Do they offer virtual interviews or is it all in person?

I chose a virtual option in the third week of November. I believe the other virtual option available at that time was closer to the end of November. Sad to miss out on the in-person fun, but grateful they offer a virtual option for those of us unable to make the trip!

I wore comfortable dress shoes! I was perfectly comfortable in flat loafer style shoes. Good luck!!

Hi everyone! I'm a current UFPA S-1. This website helped me so much last year, and I want to give back. Ask me anything 🙂

Thank you for helping out !! Do you know when people who interviewed in September might hear back about acceptances ? I know they said October- November but just wanted to have some more insight

There is no set time frame unfortunately. Last year I interviewed in November and got a call about 2 weeks later, but I was also the second to last interview, so they were wrapping up the process anyway. September interviews are early for our program, so it might take longer to hear back.

That’s what I figured. Thank you sm!! Also in general, what do you think helped you stand out in your application/interviews? 🙂

I saw that you said the last day for interviews is 11/28! I have yet to even receive a 2nd level review email, but I haven't been rejected yet either. Should I be worried since it is almost November and people have already said they have an interview lined up in November? UF is my top choice I went there for undergrad 😰 #stressed

Thank you so much for chiming in to answer questions! If you were deciding between multiple programs, what was it that led you to choose UF?

Do you feel like you and your classmates are collaborative and supportive of each other?

I decided to choose UF because of their mental health and educational resources for students. As a student who struggles with learning disabilities and chronic mental health concerns, it was important to me that the program was prepared to support a student like myself.

As a PA student, we receive expediated mental health care through Shands (UF hospital). For example, it would take a non-PA student 3 months to get tested for ADHD, but PA students can get in the next week (I've personally experienced this). Additionally, we have our own FREE therapist, FREE tutors, and a Learning Specialist who is ready to help build individual study plans.

I am obsessed with my class! We all help each other, share resources, and hype each other up 24/7. I could not do this without them

I applied late July and have only received the initial email, no second level eval yet. I am an alumni so a bit surprised. Should I be worried?

Same situation but applied 06/01, so I feel you! I have a friend who is a first year, and they said they got in a bit last minute, but just goes to show anything can happen 🙂

Congratulations!! When did you receive the second level evaluation email?

This morning. I was surprised at how quickly they got back to me 🙂  I thought I had put that on here this morning about the eval email, but just noticed it isn't on the thread. Sorry about that!
