2022-2023 Application Cycle

Recommended Posts

Hi friends! I just received an interview invite!

Submitted: 05/15

Verified: 05/16

Emory Received: 05/16

Interview Invite: 05/18

I did not have a stellar GPA, so don't be discouraged if you're less than average, as long as you have above a 3.0!

PCE: 3,750+

Volunteer: 1,250+

My supplemental for Emory was rather lengthy too, ~800 words.

Does this mean the interview spots are already taken? I wish you luck on getting in for November! Your stats are good

Good morning all. I am getting ready to submit my application with some outstanding prereqs. On CASPA it does not show Chemistry II as a prereq but on Emory's website it says 8 semesters of general chemistry with lab. Does anyone know if they require a second Chemistry?

They require 8 semester hours, or also known as 8 credit hours. So yes in a sense that’s including chem 2. I don’t think there is a gen chem 1 with a lab that fits 8 credits. 🤷‍♀️ So I included gen chem 1 and gen chem 2 with both of their labs, which for me was 8 credits exactly if I remember right.

No I don’t believe they are all filled. It says my application was reviewed without a final decision which is why I remain in consideration until the end of November.

I also got this email today and was 1) confused and then 2) bummed, as the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like they were just holding onto it in case they still had spots open at the end of the interview cycle or someone dropped out? Seems like a pre-interview wait list which I found odd / slightly disheartening, but I could be completely wrong

Yea back in May right after I submitted everything

Hmm, I’m not sure. I hope you hear something in the next few days! I think you could also ask for an update once your application has been under review for a month, since the under review email says 7-14 days, right? Good luck!

Hey everyone! Congrats on getting interviews! I'm submitting today now that my class is finally done! I was wondering if over a page is too long for the essay? Mine is about a paragraph into the second page, should I try to condense? I just want to know before I submit! Thanks! 🙂
