BrittGrebinger
Figured I would start a thread for the prospective upcoming class for January 2023! I am currently attending South's PA program in Tampa so if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask! Good luck everyone!
PA2BE4
So does South U require the Casper exam?? Website doesn’t mention it but then it’s on the Caspa app that it’s required!! Help!!
BrittGrebinger
Yes they do! When I applied last year, Casper was definitely required. I'm assuming it would be the same this year :).
user2386
What were your stats if you don't mind me asking
BrittGrebinger
Don't mind at all! -GPA was 3.97, bachelor's in Biological Health Sciences -GRE 298 -15,000 hours of PCE (I've been an x-ray tech for the past 9 years and I'm also still working, but just one day a week) -Shadowing hours were my hours from work because I work in an ER at a trauma hospital with multiple PAs. -I also took the Casper exam and scored a high percentage but they don't give you an exact score. TXprepa12
HI! I’m trying to figure out how competitive South is. Does there seem to be a minimum number of hours that people are accepted with? I know technically there’s no minimum, but it’s hard to figure out what a competative number is.

I can try and find out and let you know! I honestly don't even know what the minimum was for my class, but I can try and get a roundabout number. Janedoe
I got an email the other day without any context from Castle branch saying the program wants me to submit $165 for a full background check. I haven’t received any interview invite or anything. Is this normal? Seems out of sequence and odd to me.
BrittGrebinger
That is odd, because I didn't get information about the background check until I received an interview invite because in order to be considered for enrollment, you have to have one done. But you shouldn't have to do one unless you've received an invite.
Janedoe
Just received an invite to interview, seems they accidentally sent the background check before sending the invite

Ringo12
I've been having issues creating a fingerprint scan appointment through DTIS...mainly because I accidentally inputted the in-state Access Code even though I'm out of state Has anyone else made this mistake? How responsive is DTIS customer service?
