Advice on Finding Out of State Preceptors

Recommended Posts

Hello! I am currently in my second semester of PA school and trying to get a head start on finding preceptors out of state. My significant other is stationed in California and my plan is to move out there with him when I finish school. I was wondering if anyone had advice as to how best to reach out to physician assistants in hopes of doing a clinical rotation in the future. Would it be best to ask about job shadowing first or is it better to get straight to the point? I'm very passionate about orthopedics and am hoping that I can utilize one of my elective rotations as a chance to gain a job while I'm out there. Also if anyone has advice about the Fresno area, I'd greatly appreciate that as well. Thank you in advance!
