adreiser
Hello all, I am curious to see what other emergency departments' bonus structures are specifically for APPs. Our group was bought by the hospital about 6 months into my career. Since being a hospital employee almost 3 years now no one in our group has ever achieved the current bonus in our contract for efficiency. There are currently no other incentives for us or bonus opportunities. It's been difficult because we all rotate to an associated stand-alone ED where we rarely see over 1.5 patients per hour. No one in our group has achieved the 2.5 patient per hour rate that has to be maintained during a 3 month period.
ohiovolffemtp
The few times I've had a performance related bonus it was productivity related, though RVU vs patient counts. It's very dependent upon what comes through the door. A lower volume facility, or working the night shift, can typically tank that. I'm glad my company does bonuses by overall company performance, and then distributes them based on hours worked.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted March 7, 2022 Moderator Share Posted March 7, 2022 When given the choice, I always opt for a higher hourly rate and no bonus. They are paying me for my experience and availability. That is the same if I see 0.5 pts/hr or 4 pts/hr.
