Lindsay27
Well. I'll kick off this thread for Yale. Good luck to all applicants! Please share and update us on any news you hear. I received the "we have everything email" on Aug. 7th. Current students; tell us about your program!
caitegiles
My application was received late June. I'm applying to the dual degree PA/MPH program... anyone else? Waiting for the public health portion of the application to open up in September. I'm assuming we won't hear until after October as stated in the email? Interviews in november/december possibly? That's just my guess.
cosminskbf
Hello, I'm applying as well. They emailed me on August 10th and said that they have my CASPA application. They said that once they received my GRE scores, my application would be reviewed. I took the GRE on July 15th and had them sent there the day of. I don't know if they just hadn't matched them up, or what. But I do have a question...what did you guys put for the departmental code? I just put 0634, which is physician assistant. I'm just confused is all, I've tried calling them, but no one has been in for the last week or two. Thanks!
hankea4
cosminskbf - if it's any consolation, same thing (essentially) happened to me. I got the email over a month ago saying CASPA recieved/GREs pending. I had GRE score reports mailed July 25...but no email confirming receipt. I used to 0634 code as well. marktheshark89
They do not usually send any verification of having received the GRE scores, separate from the first confirmation of having received your application. Interviews are usually late October - mid november, and most people will know about acceptance or rejection by Thanksgiving (atleast this has been their timeline in previous years). km07cq
Caitegiles - I'm also applying PA/MPH, I think that was my major draw towards Yale. I was real happy to finish all my supplimentals, not looking forward to doing yet another application and essay in September.
PiperBrad
I got the email saying both my application and GRE scores had been received on June 25, still haven't heard anything since although the email did say I probably wouldn't until at least Oct. 1st... cosminskbf
I just talked to someone in the admissions office. They said that they don't send you an email confirmation saying that they've received your CASPA application AND your GRE scores until after they've reviewed your application. LauraSiS
The last thing I heard from other people was that the we will hear sometime between oct 1- oct 29. That is going to be a very long month to wait.

kellieacosta
Also got invite this morning. Does anyone have any opinions on the program now? Either from talking to current students or ?? I have already confirmed a seat at another program and am deciding whether to interview. (It is a big cost for me to get out there). Thank you for any thoughts!! okadam
I got my interview too!!! Does anyone know how long the interview is supposed to go? I'm planning on flying there, but the only flight back to my hometown from New Haven is at 6:30pm...I'm worried if the interview goes until 5 that I may not make that flight...any advice would be helpful! kclaire012
Okadam, I called the registration department today to find out about the interview time as well. She said that there are activities planned from 8am to about 4pm so I had to opt out of the earlier flight and go for one at 9pm. She also said that the University will be planning events for the night before the interview, like a dinner with current students and faculty. She said that they will send out additional interview information shortly, but as of now that is all I have! Congrats on the interview! What date did you select? sartort
I received my invite today too. I signed up for October 22nd. I'm staying the night after the interview because I live on the west coast and flying out of New Haven isn't very practical for me so I'll likely take a train to a different airport. okadam
Kclaire012, Thanks for letting me know! Well, it seems the New Haven airport is close to Yale, so I think a 6:30 pm flight wouldn't be impossible. I have no other options :/ My interview date is set up for October 22nd as well. Very excited for it!
cosminskbf
Congrats to all who have received interviews so far! If you guys don't mind me asking, what are your stats/HCE hours? I haven't heard anything yet!
lozzanc
Does anyone know how many interview invites they sent out?
marktheshark89
Based on the online sign-up process, where they list all the dates currently avaliable and number of interview spots, it seemed like around 70-80. But I do not know if they plan on adding more dates/spots to that.
lozzanc
Thank you!! One other quick question: Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare for the interview? Or does anyone know what kind of interview format that theyfollow?
marktheshark89
In the past there was a one-on-one interview with a faculty member and also an interview with a committee of Yale PA graduates (usually 2) and an affiliated physician. They also provide a campus tour, financial aid overview, lunch with current students, a presentation about the program, and require a writing sample (usually 4 ethics based questions). cosminskbf
So have they already sent out invites for ALL of the interviews? Unless they add more, I mean.
marktheshark89
I do not know. All of the dates to interview that we could pick from were in october, so if they add more dates at another time then obviously there will be more invites. I do not know if we are simply a first batch or if we are the only batch.
baussie
Rejected. Best of luck to everyone else! They said in the rejection email that they had a 40% increase in applicants this year!!
kclaire012
From the stats last year it looks like they interviewed about 120 for 36 spots. Will anyone else be interviewing on the 15th??
