FriarMedic
For those in urgent care, how many patients per hour are you seeing by yourself? I’ve worked per diem at a place for 6 years now and we just got bought out and now expectation is to see 80-100 solo in a 12 hour shift. To me that’s insane. Sure the Covid screens are quick but it’s just relentless. I was used to seeing 40ish in a 12 hr shift before we got bought out. Nothing in place to bring in a second provider at this point. I’ll be speaking with my feet pretty soon.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted December 29, 2021 Moderator Share Posted December 29, 2021 Most I ever saw in the US was 60 in 12 hrs. Once. Mostly flu checks. anything more than 3/hr on a regular basis is crazy and unsafe. Internationally I have seen 120 is 6 hrs, but the charting is incredibly minimal, like this: c/c h/a today exam nl tx tylenol.
ohiovolffemtp
I've done 3/hour, but it wasn't fun if you were going to do any kind of good charting. Worked briefly at an UC that did drive up COVID testing. That hit 5-6/hour during those hours, but it was still a pain to keep up with the charting.
