hankea4
Congrats all! Out of curiosity, is Cornell still a surgery-focused PA program? I know in the past they've been surgery-focused, but the PA program's Website states that they provide training for primary care as well...can anyone familiar with the program please comment? thanks
caitegiles
They are still a surgical PA program. They provide a well rounded training that prepares you for work in primary care, but provides additional training in surgery is how I understand it from their website. Extra clinicals in surgery. langer11089
I will be seeing you all on the 16th also! Does anyone know how many people they're interviewing each day or in total? I asked when I confirmed my interview, but they weren't really sure as of then.
Yosemite
Hmm, good question. I don't know the answer to that, but I asked if there were any other interview dates and they have yet to schedule any. First round at least!

risktaker
I have not received a secondary app yet from Cornell. Should I be assuming that this will most likely be a rejection?
yalatrac
risktaker, they didnt send me a secondary till 22 days (7/25/12) after I got an email confirming that they received my primary CASPA (7/3/12) and got the interview less than a week after that. Interviewing September 13th! So I got the later round of interviews. Good luck and enjoy NYC everyone =)
sefriedman2
They sent me their secondary application on August 3 and required it be received no later than August 10 via postal mail. Did anyone else only get a week to complete? I found this odd because my CASPA was mailed June 23... talk about last minute!
risktaker
I never received an email saying they receive my CASPA app. I will be calling them tomorrow.

yalatrac
For anyone who interviewed on the 16th of Aug, how was it? I was not able to get much information on their interviewing style from their website and last thing I want to do it get caught off guard!
jkunic
sefriedman2: I also received the secondary on Aug 3rd and had a Aug 10th deadline. Only I was on an Alaska cruise with no internet access until the 6th of Aug. Needless to say I spent the entire day in the library handwriting my essay to get it out on time. caitegiles
Good luck to everyone interviewing in september! I'm sure you will all love it as much as I did. The suspense of waiting to hear back is absolute torture though, and from the looks of last year's threads it may be a while. Worth it!
eemacksoud
how does cornell send their interview invites? email/regular mail? i submitted to caspa the first week of July, still haven't heard anything about a supplement. any insight would be most appreciated! lola126
So far all of their communication is via email. You will recieve and email with the supplement questions and you will have to send it back to them via snail mail within a week. If they chose you for an interview you will receive an email inviting you to come on a certain day. I wouldn't panic, they seem to take their time with communication. urbanoptimist
Eemacksoud - I submitted my CASPA in early June and I have yet to hear back about a supplemental. Given my stats, I'm not sure why they haven't at least sent me a supplementary. Perhaps I'm out of the running but who knows.
