2021-2022 Application Cycle

Recommended Posts

For those of you who were already offered a seat, CONGRATS! How long did you have to accept your spot? I was offered a seat at another program and only had 4 days to accept.

I interview in a few weeks and am just mentally preparing myself for the outcomes. 🙂

So if there have already been two rounds of interviews at Seattle in September and October, does that mean they will wait three months to do a final round of interviews in January? I’ve seen September and November interviews in past years, so to have both rounds done already feels… fast.

I agree that the timeline seems faster/different this year

Okay, I combed the last four application cycle records to make this list.  I thought it might help people who are still in interview limbo and wondering about how many interviews are held per site, when they are typically scheduled, etc.

Also, I've seen several mentions through the years of a final interview at Seattle that's used as a sort of catch-all for all the sites.  However, I can't confirm a single date of this interview from any of the last four cycles.

2017: application due 9/1
SEA- 9/26, 10/12, 11/14
TAC- 10/21, 12/9
SPO- 1/6/18
ANC- 11/18

2018: application due 9/1
SEA- 9/28, 11/1, 11/29
TAC- 10/13, 12/8
SPO- 10/20
ANC- 11/17

2019: application due 9/1
SEA- 9/26, 11/1, 11/22
TAC- 10/26, 12/7
SPO- 10/19, 12/14
ANC- 11/16
KONA- 1/18/20

2020: application due 9/1
SEA- 9/25, 11/7, 12/12
TAC- 10/10, 11/14
SPO- 10/24, 11/21
ANC- 10/17
KONA- 12/5, 1/16/21

2021 (thus far): application due 10/1
SEA- 9/24, 10/22
TAC- 10/8, 11/15
SPO- 10/15, 11/19

Thank you for posting this. Are you confident Anchorage hadn’t interviewed yet?

Hey all, I reached out to MEDEX directly to ask our common questions. Tove Blake, the Director of Admissions, confirmed that they have NOT yet held interviews for Kona or Anchorage, and there WILL be one last interview in late January for all campuses.

(As an aside, given the way the calendar falls this year, I do not expect there to be any additional interviews scheduled for this year beyond what is already planned. I guess we can all take a break from worrying for a couple weeks and pick back up in December when January invitations start?)

Did they say when anchorage and Kona interviews were going to be held? Or were you implying that anchorage and Kona interviews won’t be until January along with the other campuses?

Interviews have all been scheduled for Fridays. The last two Fridays of December are holidays, so they’re obviously not going to schedule them then. Given that they provide a month’s notice prior to each interview, I would guess they aren’t going to announce any more until next month (which means the interviews themselves would be scheduled for January). Tove said the catch-all interview is late January, so maybe the 21st or 28th? That would leave the 7th and 14th as likely dates for Kona and Anchorage.

Brilliant detective work, Katie! Thank you 🙂 This is really helpful for us anxious folks still waiting!

I received an interview invite for 12/10 for Seattle! Anyone here who's interviewed have any tips?! I'd love to hear from you! I would like to get an idea of what it's like interview through zoom. Thanks in advanced! Ek, so excited!

Hey, congratulations! I was also invited to interview on 12/10 for Seattle. My name is Mahlia. I am so excited for this opportunity! Would love to get to know a fellow interviewee and talk about the ways you are preparing for the interview but Zoom specifically.
