Read this article in a newsletter that is published in Florida to help legislators understand certain issues. Florida was one of the states where were were arbitrarily culled from independence legislation just because someone who doesn't know our profession saw the word "assistant".

They currently can not supervise MAs? Seriously? PAs have been doing that everywhere else forever. 

Why would anyone want to work in one of these oppressive PA states? Legislators must know they are limiting the supply of providers by having these outdated laws...

Except....they really are not.  NP's have stepped right into these rolls because of their onslaught of legislative victories.  So those jobs are getting filled....just not by PA's.

I can't believe we still have to convince people assistant does not describe what we do. The only thing we assist is physician's bottomline in most cases.
