Starting a new thread for 2022! Can anyone tell me what makes northeastern stand out to them as far as solid PA programs are concerned? Tx!

I actually spoke to someone who currently goes to Northeastern and he really liked it there. I think talking to a current PA student really makes that school stand out vs. the many other schools that I just do online research for. He said he liked how the clinical rotations were long (5 weeks vs. average of 3-4 weeks for other schools) so he can get as much clinical experience as possible. Also they sort of have organs system learning where pharmacology and anatomy lectures will try to match up according to the organ system (i.e. cardiology, dermatology, etc) for example. What really draws me to the school is their international elective rotation opportunity in Peru. I personally have a lot of experience working and traveling abroad so I would love to do so again as part of my PA training.

My confirmation email did mention the 75 dollar supplemental fee. The program emailed and said they received both my supplemental and verified application 2 days ago on 6/15 and I submitted on 6/2

I'm from MA and a majority of the PAs I most admire all went to Northeastern, coincidence/location play a factor in that, but because of them Northeastern has always been one of my top choices. Unfortunately, I got covid while at the time of my A&P2 midterm and ended up with a B- for a final grade. Recently decided it was worth it to apply anyway and retake A&P if I manage to get in.

Does anyone know if they're doing info sessions? I can't seem to find any info regarding them on their website.

I’ve been trying to find this out too. From what I’ve saw I don’t think they are right now but I’m going to keep looking

I went to their 2018-2019 open house prior to the pandemic. I have had my eye out for info sessions and haven't seen them. Here's some info I have collected.

-Didactic: approx. 3 semester

-experiential learning

-stim lab/debrief rooms/interprofessional learning/vertical integration

-yes cadever lab, shared with the NP and MD students

-Clinicals: 9 rotations with 1 elective , 5 weeks per rotation

-International rotations available - Belize, Guatemala etc

-Adcoms will consider your last 30 credits* worth of science GPA, but your undergrad still must be 3.00

EDIT: *Last 10 science courses with minimum 30 credits total

Feel free to DM with more questions, happy to help out

@Jul92 They have a blue deadline which just states the date it needs to be submitted, and they're non-rolling so I wouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't worry about it because it says submitted by, not received by. See below.

  • Submit the Northeastern University $75 nonrefundable application fee by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on August 1, 2021 via Northeastern's Application Fee portal
  • Have your application verified by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on August 31, 2021

I’m a little sad they used the wording “meet other admitted students” and “have your questions answered before confirming your enrollment for the fall” for the Open House Invite late September. I try not to read into wording usually, but this was a little rough. 😄 It obviously doesn’t mean anything but man the wait is hard at times

Did you receive an Open House Invite directly? I haven’t heard anything, but would love to attend this!
