Pineapplesinhawaii
I just started a Hospitalist job. EM Basic has been a great refresher for the ED. Does anyone know of any similar reference notes / concise list of tips for Internal Med? I wasn't exposed much to hospitalist work as a student (did my IM rotation outpatient), and am pretty much clueless to the hospitalist work. Would appreciate any recommendations that won't make me look like an idiot
lov2xlr8
If you're at an academic center, see if you can grab a copy of the Medciine Residency manual, good start. Above is good as well. In addition, I did the AAPA Hospital Medicine Boot Camp a decade ago when I first started and it was helpful (buy the copy of the guide beforehand, worth it), probably still exists virtually.
greenmood
My shelf. I found the little green/yellow Lange Hospital Admissions very helpful when I started, as well as the Pocket Medicine guides.
