angeloj2
New grad here, and will need to apply for DEA registration for my job. Just saw the fee, and couldn't believe it. ($551 for 3 years:sweat:) Do hospitals/employers typically reimburse PA's for this? Or is it completely out of my pocket?

TXPA23
if they want you to write the scripts they should! I do not know anyone that is a full time employee that has to pay for their fees.
bradtPA
On interview, I told my SP I had everything but DEA. He offered to pay for it on the spot. Get your employer to reimburse you for it.....
Moderator EMEDPA Posted September 23, 2010 Moderator Share Posted September 23, 2010 I have 2 ( work in 2 states). 1 is paid for by my primary employer and I pay the second because it is for a per diem job without benefits.
mytopeka
Our group gets a lot of great benefits but the will not pay for our DEA licenses. We all just suck it up and write the check. Also beware that it may not be exactly three years. I think mine was due after only 2 1/2 years.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted September 23, 2010 Moderator Share Posted September 23, 2010 if it's not covered you can write it off on taxes as a necessary business expense.
