Use the title change money for OTP/FPAR?

Recommended Posts

I get the impression that some people on Huddle think if we don’t spend the 22 million on title change, we can get OTP/FPAR in all 50 states with the same money.

I disagree. That’s what politicians would say by giving you false hope with no results. I just don’t see how California will become FPAR in 2023 like the NPs simply because we just forget about the title change.

OTP/FPAR will never stop. We can always optimize our practice because it is an ongoing, ever-changing process. Optimization of our practice will never stop. We may have to do another OTP/FPAR 10 years from now with a totally different set of rules. The advancement of medicine will continue to grow, so is our scope of practice.

I say spend the money, get the title change done.

Nothing of significant note will change until we change our name to add "Practitioner" into it.  Nothing.

We were so close in florida, and it all vanished in a second because of one state senator calling us an assistant.

i don’t think calling us an “associate” would have faired much better.

Exactly, and yet people in this profession still can't get it through their thick skulls that "Assistant" and/or "Associate" is killing us legislatively.  Like I said before, "PA's" have never missed an opportunity to shoot all of us in the foot.

Assistant to Associate reminds me of this story 🤣

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-austria-village/tired-of-sniggers-austrian-village-tweaks-its-name-to-fugging-idUSKBN28627D

VIENNA (Reuters) - The Austrian village of Fucking is changing its name, the mayor of the municipality where it is located said on Thursday, after residents apparently grew tired of the sniggers it prompted in the English-speaking world and of visitors stealing its signs.

The village, part of the municipality of Tarsdorf, north of Salzburg and near the German border, has long been a figure of fun in English-speaking media, which have gleefully reported local exasperation at signs being removed.

In 2018 the pornographic website Pornhub said it was offering free premium access to residents of Fucking and towns with names such as Titz, Germany or Big Beaver, Pennsylvania, in the United States.

"I am confirming that it has in fact been decided by the local council. I will not say any more about it," Tarsdorf Mayor Andrea Holzner told Reuters. The decision was also posted on the council's website here.

As of Jan. 1 the village will be called Fugging, the official statement said, adding that the initiative had been brought by the residents of the village.
