Administrator rev ronin Posted August 18, 2020 Administrator Share Posted August 18, 2020 Challenge with this is that there are A LOT of PAs willing to work for pennies on the dollar to do telemedicine. If telemedicine stays, those jobs may be gone for good.
surgblumm
In this day of a pandemic and the publi's fear of being in an enclosed space with other sick patients, it is understandable that they lost at least 75% of their business. Telehealth has become a frenzied option and will continue until diagnostic problems begin to surface as I do not believe that every PA is capable of providing this option just out of the barn. These clinic's , like small businesses will not survive a lengthly closure and once again the hospital systems will open more Urgent Care Clinics and provide a more complete and structured service. Mayamom
Telemedicine may be the new rotation in school!!
surgblumm
If Telemedicine is not a new course , we may as well hand over healthcare to the NP profession. We are now neck in neck with them in telemedicine. Let's not wait too long for this as we willonce again cry over a missed opportunity. einstein2u
Wife buddy worked with Rediclinic as needed. She said they are closed, out of the brick and motar business. Only selected few where picked to man the telehealth option, the rest were given 8 weeks severance. Lots of NPs just lost their job and will make the market even worst. Ouch...as if finding a job as a PA in Austin was not hard enough....
