Been there - done that. It's worth keeping momma happy.

DogLovingPA
That's waaaaay too much. That is practically the equivalent of working a 10 hour day, every day of the month. I don't know how you do it. I do about 140-170 a month and want to die.

I am sleeping a lot of those hrs on my 24s. Getting paid to sleep is awesome.
DogLovingPA
That sounds awesome. Especially as I just came off a 10 hour shift that turned into 12 hours where orders in Epic were not working the entire time and we were on down time procedures. Wait times were 4+ hours. The thought "I hate my life" may have been muttered a few thousand times.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted August 25, 2020 Author Moderator Share Posted August 25, 2020 I like down time. We got to T-system paper charts and everything gets done 50% faster.

BirdDogPA
Shift work is one of the great things of doing rural emergency medicine ( high hourly pay, 24-36hr shifts). Has also been my downfall on more than one occasion with commitment to family. Slippery slope.

Have missed lots of birthdays, holidays, etc due to this.
