Applying to a school that gives preference

Recommended Posts

I am interested in a school that gives preference to their alumni (more than half the seats). I want to apply to this school, but feel as if I'm at a disadvantage, especially because PCE is a weak point in my application (I only have 800 hours). I'm having a tough time deciding if my chances would be higher applying to another school. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have the means to do it, I don't see why not. Sometimes people apply to "reach" programs and get in, whereas the "safe" programs don't even offer an interview. So it's good to take the chance as long as you meet minimum requirements and you could see yourself attending that program if you are accepted. I would say this espeically if you have only applied to a few programs this far and you're looking to improve your chances by applying to more programs. 🙂
