autumn_george
Hello, I am a new grad and accepted a job in Neurosurgery at a level 1 trauma hospital. Any one in this field have any books they can't live without or references I need. I would love to start reading up before my start date in 2 weeks. Thanks for ANY advice! JoshL
You could also visit the ANSPA site, anspa.org, which is helpful. They have a very good job description, as long as you can overlook all the typos.
2livecrews
The Greenberg handbook of Neurosurgery is what everyone I trained with used.
autumn_george
JoshL I have joined ANSPA site a few weeks ago and I still can't log on to their website, I was worried I have been swindled :( I emailed them but no response. 2livecrews
I mailed a check and everything to them but haven't heard anything either. Pretty strange.
JoshL
I haven't actually joined them as of yet. I would like to network with other neuro PAs, so I still might. Concerning that you guys have had difficulty with it. However, you do not need to join to go to the site and read a description of what a neurosurgery PA may be responsible for. Go to http://www.anspa.org/page.asp?tid=92&name=Job-Description&navID=2 for the description. I have been in neurosurgery for three years now and it is quite accurate. And I agree that a copy of Greenberg's handbook of Neurosurgery is essential. Autumn, good luck in your new position!
