Just got the acceptance call!! Very fast turn around from the interview today

Congratulations! I received an acceptance call this afternoon as well:) Looking forward to being in class together!

Congrats to those who got accepted already. I am hoping I am in the next round of invites since this is my top choice school.

I am also verified. I applied on May 17th and verified that day. I received notification from the JWU portal on Monday that they received my application and will be reviewing it this summer.

How did you get access to the portal? Did they send an email out? Thanks!

I don't have access to their portal. I received an email from the portal that said my application had been received in their portal with a reminder about their program requirements for classes, PCE hours. shadowing and 3 LORs.

Then it goes on to say that once my application is verified through CASPA, (which it was), my prerequisite coursework will be reviewed by the admissions team and forwarded for faculty review. They are rolling admissions and begin reviewing applications over the summer and start scheduling interviews in late summer/early fall and continue through March 1.

It's also still 36 seats.

Thank you for your interest in our program.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Best,

Does anyone know around what time they typically send out interview invites? And/or how the interviews are usually laid out? Obviously this could all change due to covid but just curious

As far as interview invites, they will probably go out anytime between the end of July and early August. The email confirmation states they won't do it until late summer. Historically, that has been the timeline. As far as interview layout - hopefully in person since we are doing so well  here!

Hey guys, when it asks to list reasons for applying in the program materials section, did you actually list them like bullet points or write a brief statement? The 9999 character limit just confuses me. Thanks and good luck!

I wrote paragraph form, not bullets. I was pretty concise, def didn't use the limit

      Hi, everyone!
What are your thoughts on applying to programs with a ARC-PA probationary accreditation status (i.e., "Accreditation-Probation")?
I'm a first-time applicant, and a couple schools that I have my eye on currently have probationary statuses (Johnson & Wales University; Monmouth University). I was wondering if it's worth applying to said schools, especially to ones that have had a probationary status for more than two years.
Although these schools are still considered accredited, is it safe to apply to & then attend these schools? Do these schools prepare students to become competent & trustworthy healthcare professionals? Are these schools worth the debt? My concern is enrolling in a school with probationary accreditation and graduating as a sub par PA-C, but those are just my uncertain sentiments at the moment.
Moreover, I've read that applying to these schools may be advantageous to some who aren't considered "strong applicants" (e.g., average grades/GRE). On the other hand, I've seen "strong applicants" display their admiration & loyalty to these schools here on PA Forum. I'm confused! Let's open up the discussion!

Figured I'd get this started! Does anyone have any up to date information regarding the probation status?

I am a physician looking for a mid-level partner in a new practice.  I am NOT a recruiter or headhunter.

Seeking a mid-level provider to assist in a new outpatient clinic evaluating patients for potential medical marijuana card recommendation.  This is an outpatient practice currently being developed in Providence, RI.  There is no call or night shifts. Monday to Friday 8a-5p.  It would be fee basis per number of patients seen daily with transition to a generous salary.  Patients would be seen every 30 minutes to an hour (depending on business) ideally, at a fee of $50/patient going to the mid-level provider.  Realistically 10 patients a day initially with a goal of 20 patients a day once established.  It's possible the week could be split among several providers depending on what works best for those that apply.  Don't miss this opportunity to help others in an area that is often overlooked...alternative medicine.  We will NOT be prescribing marijuana, soliciting marijuana or in direct contact with marijuana.  We are simply recommending a patient for consideration of a medical marijuana card through the Rhode Island Department of Health. Visit their website to read more on this. http://www.health.ri.gov/healthcare/medicalmarijuana/for/providers/

Email if interested and we can discuss further.
