Yup. Then required postgrad programs for a yr for anything but primary care then required passage of an exam in that specialty. Lateral mobility is dead. This will just make it official. I don't think that is a bad thing. I have always thought it made zero sense to pretend we can function competently on day one in multiple specialties without added training. In the days of real OJT this might have made sense. Today it does not.
