zdudley
Hey guys I’m working on the supplemental right now and wasn’t sure what to put for the question about housing? Are PA students considered for on-campus housing? There is no on campus housing, as the program is located in downtown Hagerstown rather than Frostburg. During my interview, one of the faculty members mentioned an apartment complex a few blocks away from campus that offers discounts to students in the program, hopefully we receive information about that in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hopefully I can shed some light on the housing info! Here is a link on USM-H website about housing: http://www.hagerstown.usmd.edu/content/student-housing A lot of the first class ended up living in the Antietam Apartments, as well as two of my classmates. They are nice apartments and only about a 5 minute walk to our building. I'm not 100% but I believe that there are guaranteed apartments available at the two placed they have listed, so it can be less of a headache when trying to find a place to live, hopefully you all don't need to do that in the middle of a pandemic! However, all housing is considered "off-campus" so you are free to live where ever you would like. Almost half of my class is living at "Parkview Apartments". It is further away than the Antietam apartments, but its in a quieter area and there is a nice park only 1/2 mile away. I chose Parkview apartments because I didn't want a roommate and i wasn't sure if the officially sponsored housing was going to pair me up with somebody, so I just went ahead and signed a lease for a 2br myself. Now granted, I am paying more than what you pay at Antietam Apartments, but I love my apartment here.
bgrif
@scc27 Thanks for the housing information, it's very helpful to research this stuff now. I was wondering if you know of any PA students that live at The Aria at Hamilton Plaza? That's the apartment complex that's 2 blocks from the school. I'm pretty sure they might offer discounts to students too but I'll have to look more into that. Do you recommend living downtown near the PA program building or outside of the downtown area? I'm worried that living downtown will be too noisy.

If you'd rather walk to class than drive, then living downtown would be perfectly fine! Downtown Hagerstown is fairly small, so I don't think noise would be too much of an issue. Earlier in the thread someone mentioned that faculty didn't want to be involved in making the group and that the students usually make one themselves. So if someone wants to make one, go for it! yorkam20
Hi there! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to those still waiting to hear back. Has anyone been waitlisted and heard back about an acceptance?
Mlop0207
I interviewed 9/21 and received an email the next day. It said I did well and was placed in a pool for continued consideration for admission. Is that waitlisted? Or do they explicitly tell you that you are waitlisted? Yes, that email is what I’m talking about! I know I saw at least one person on here say they’d gotten the same email and were accepted about 2.5 weeks later, so was just curious if many more had the same experience.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I felt like at the interview they said something about a good amount of waitlisted applicants being offered admission... or maybe I’m just telling myself that? Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Frostburg was by far my favorite interview experience! The faculty (which by the way you get to meet and interview with all of them) were so welcoming and conversational throughout the interview. They gave me a lot of positive feedback after each of my answers to questions, which made me feel pretty good about how I meshed with the program.
