Nmahay
Hey guys. So I am currently a senior in college and don't know what to do after I graduate. I wouldn't say I'm the strongest applicant academically because my GPA is a 3.2, but there was an upward trend in my transcript. I have about 1100 hours of HCE and only about 500 hours of PCE. I have two plans but don't know what route to take. My first plan is to get my masters before Pa school to show schools I can do well in upper level classes or My second plan is to take a gap year to increase my clinical hours as my PCE is and volunteer hours are low. I've been getting many mixed opinions , so hearing what you guys have to say would be greatly appreciated!
Moderator EMEDPA Posted May 10, 2020 Moderator Share Posted May 10, 2020 option 3 masters with volunteering on the side. what kind of hce/pce do you have? option 4 paramedic/RT/RN program as 2nd BS to increase gpa and pce.
JD2012
You can ready my stats in my about me in my profile, I was accepted with a 3.2gpa both cumulative and science. I did have about 3600-3700hrs of PCE when accepted. No master's. I avoided that route due to costs and just did a few post-bacc classes to raise my GPA at the local CC.
MT2PA
Option 2b: increase the PCE/HCE and take classes on the side that show you can handle upper level courses and raise your GPA. You don't need to be degree seeking to do that.
