From my understanding, they will be sending out letters after interviews regarding the rejection letter.

Gretch1212
I don’t understand why we have to get preceptors before we are actually part of the program. That’s a little frustrating that I had to go though the trouble of getting one to not even get an interview. This was my last school as I can’t move and it’s a little frustrating how this process is. 1

You’re not alone. I have a 3.9 GPA, over 3,500 PCE hours, applied with a preceptor, and didn’t get an invite either.

PaAlltheWay84
Was told by admin this was a very competitive year. Over 500 applicants, most far exceeding minimum program pre-reqs (then apply for med school, am I right?!) 3.8 GPA, over 11,000 hours of HC experience, well rounded, applied with rural preceptor, met minimum requirements and recommended requirements, so yeah, sucks. Why 35 class size when all we hear about is primary care providers needed STAT. Good hustle everyone. Nice to chat with you. Try again next year, don’t give up. We may not have been first pick for UND, but someone one will see our worth and help us invest in our education and fill shortages within the PA role. Speaking of, what other programs besides Yale are online?? TIA! 1
Jenstroop
I feel your frustrations! 3.6 GPA, 4.0 prereq GPA, (Graduated in 2008, retook stats, ap1 and 2, genetics and biochem since they were past seven years-4.0 gpa last 20 credits...) over 25,000 PCE, applied with preceptor in rural area, several leadership and volunteer roles, shadowing experiences, etc. I'm also limited as to where I can go since I'm older and have a family I cannot uproot. Yale are UND were my only options. I know someone mentioned Wisconsin-Madison, Ill have to check into that! You all sound great; don't let a denial from one program make you feel like you're not good enough! When one door closes, another one opens. It is definitely not the end of the road for us, just a detour we need to take now. End goal is PA-C, right? We will get there!! Keep grinding until you reach your goals if you really want it. Good luck to you all!

Good luck to you all! Yes my application sounds almost exactly like yours, I have two children and unable to move as well. Wish they had more programs that was geared toward applicants like us. It seem like NP school is just so much easier to a get in and to have a family and work. Why is PA not like that ?
FloridaPA21
Hello guys, I am in the same situation with those who didn't receive an email with invitation nor rejection and just like most of you I have good stats. I just want to share with you a thought: is okay. Apply to as many schools as you can, is a difficult year and many schools don't have the same amount of applicants due to Covid (no shadowing, preceptors, community hours because of the restrictions). Also, I can't move just like most of you, but I have this idea: Do I want to be a PA student or I want to be a PA student at this particular university? You see, I want to become a PA, and I will continue to apply to other schools until I will become one. Yesterday at the grocery store the cashier talked with me randomly, and her answers give me a new perspective regarding my whole journey, anxiety and insecurities: -How are you? I answered honestly"-Not so good". She decided to tell me randomly: -" You see, if something doesn't go your way, it has to be a reason behind that, one that you might not understand now. I am a cancer survivor and I learned that there are more important things when you might die or loose everything. Just keep fighting but enjoy your life at the same time. You never know what is coming". Conclusion: Guys you are amazing, smart and brave that you applied. This is not the end, you can do it, if not here, somewhere else. Keep following your dream! Love you and stay safe. Tati

My plan is to have a good cry tonight and enjoy my day off of work tomorrow. I’ve been holding in this anxiousness along with my breath. Prays to all of you with your future dreams. Cry, pray, watch a motivational video, go for a walk or just have a glass of wine. You deserve it, we all deserve it. This anxiousness makes us sick and does not help us in any way. I've been studying for GRE, PA-CAT, Casper exam for the last 3 months. Failed GRE twice already. I am not a native english speaker, moved here 5 years ago and find this life purpose to become a PA. I cant stop. Head up, we can do it!
johnny5dime
I dont understand how so many out of state people got interviews, based on how their point system works. I had thought they had given more points to local SD, ND, & MN residents. People with Rural Preceptors got further points. Seems to me that alot of people from out of the states had gotten interviews. Did they change their program that much? I had all the necessary items to maximize the potential points and did not get an interview. I'm puzzled on what happened this year even if there was 500+ qualified applicants. Not all of those 500+ over qualified applicants were in rural/local areas to get those points.

I am a ND resident who has not received an interview nor a denial letter yet. I went to their health careers expo a few years back and they said they basically do not extend interviews out to anyone outside of ND, MN, or WICHE. I know for the med school residency is huge. I think they have to accept 85% ND Residents, 5% MN Residents, and 5% WICHE and 5% INMED program. I assumed the PA program was similar.
