fuma102
For a newbie, as a pocket reference: http://www.amazon.com/Basics-Emergency-Medicine-Chief-Complaint/dp/B00558UQSS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1342324054&sr=8-2&keywords=habboushe nothing else like this. It lists the top 20 ED presenting complaints, lists all the red flags and what to do about them, then has some tips in the back (nexus criteria, PERC, etc). Easy to navigate and a good start for newbies to ED, urgent care, or family practice. If youre a student and can repeat a history with these key points, youre a rockstar. Our second year EM residents still whip this out. For read at home material, Tinntinali is where its at. First Aid for the EM boards is decent. I'd get Dubin & a 12 lead practice book as well. These are to start. Anything beyond this is past the point of diminishing returns.
