FallenFruit
AAPA salary report documented 7 ophthalmology PAs with salary ranging from 105,000 to 150,000, however it does not state what specialty within ophthalmology. Wondering... What your role is in the outpatient clinic and in the OR , and in general as a PA in this specialty. If you work for private practice, federal govt, or academic center. How did you choose ophthalmology? Is there a future for PAs in ophthalmology? Thank you. (Also posted this on Reddit/physician assistant.) Edit: Saw previous thread on topic. Sorry for the duplicate. Billdog29
I know a couple of Ophtho PAs. They do surgery clearance physicals, treat bacterial/viral infections, blepharitis, dry eyes. One of them even does intravitreal injections along with his supervising retina specialist MD. It seems like it’s a growing field for PAs.
