cg02186
I was just wondering what counts into one's science GPA besides biology, chemistry, and physics? For example, at of all my pre-reqs only Gen. Biology and Micro actually start with the prefix BIOL. My question is I took classes such as: Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Pathology, Pharmacology, Biophysiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation, Evaluation and Diagnosis of Upper Extremity Injuries, Evaluation and Diagnosis of Lower Extremity Injuries, Therapeutic Modalities, and classes similar to this. However, these are all KINS pre-fixes. Will those count towards a science GPA? Thanks for taking the time to read this!

ghostnineone
Is physics a really important class to take? I've always been worried about that because I have enough trouble with plain algebra because I have a math learning disability...I've heard that the GRE and MCAT (PA's have to take this right? or is it only in some schools?) are filled with physics

flyingsquirrel
I don't know of any PA schools that require physics, but if you don't have a soild grasp of basic algebra you will have a tough time in any medical profession (and on the GRE). As for the MCAT, I'll let you reasearch that one on your own.

ghostnineone
I assumed as much...I have trouble with algebra but at least I can focus on that and not have to worry about higher level math... edit: I live in NY state

cg02186
I took physics because it was required for me and it wasn't all that bad. It isn't required at a lot of schools but I see it as recomended a good bit. Good luck!

balsam88
The math on GRE is just basic high school math, with some higher level questions. It's not really that bad if u do a lot of practice questions. There is nothing complicated on it like calculus and such. As far as physics I don't think it's required at many PA schools, at least not at the schools I'm applying to.
