Hi my name is Ahmed Rehman and Im a college student that attends Suffolk Community College. Im here to ask if there is any Physician Assistants around my area that are willing to allow me to shadow them. I was really interested in this career path since at a young age and I would love to shadow during the summer. I live around in East Patchogue and Brookhaven. Thank you.

I agree with Connor ^. Because of the high demand, unless you know someone very closely, your chances of them letting you shadow them is slim (that is, there really isn't any benefit for the practitioners).

I lived on Long Island (hempstead) & went to Hofstra (moved a few months ago). For our area, the whole Northwell Health system is HUGE on having scribes. Scribing for some programs is automatic write off for shadowing bc you work under PAs. On the other hand, you could have the PAs sign this form because by scribing, you're being paid to shadow and document everything they are doing. If you are interested in Hospitals in Northwell, look into Scribe America's company. They are the majority "supplier" of scribes for our region. I worked at Huntington Hospital which is a major hospital in the suffolk county region!! I worked for scribe america & got all my hours automatically written off for this, so if you have more questions feel free to DM me 🙂

I am currently in the process of my first application cycle and would love to connect with current Oklahoma P.A.'s for advice/shadowing opportunities and any Oklahoma Pre-P.A. students that are going through this journey as well!

Hello, I am currently a Pre-PA student in the Denver, Colorado area applying this cycle and am currently looking for a PA in any speciality to shadow during the month of July at some point. I have received the COVID vaccination series. Please reply or reach out if you are available! Thanks so much!

Hey everyone, there are still tickets available for those who are interested in the Loma Linda PA program. We have changed our event from zoom to being ON CAMPUS. There will be prizes raffled off. Due to some restrictions still being in place, the tickets that are being sold will only allow one person per ticket. More info on the flyer and event bright website. Thank you so much! Hope to see you there. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/llus-3rd-annual-pre-pa-conference-tickets-145958073527

Hey y'all so I am a sophomore in undergrad and in the process of just starting to get PCE, shadow, and volunteer hours and etc, but I am super stressed out because I am itching to start getting PCE hours except its so difficult while in school. I was thinking about becoming an EMT and working for 2 years after I graduate but I wasn't sure if being an EMT is considered PCE among most colleges, does anyone know? (I also tried to work as a caregiver over summer and that job isn't for me)

Also, I'm trying to compile a list of PA schools to apply to, so if anyone has any recommendations for schools on the east coast please let me know! 🙂

I'm having a hard time finding PAs to shadow, I was only able to one so far. Currently work as a PCT at Albany Med. I have tried both AMC and SPH but no luck.  I have called a lot of clinics not affiliated with AMC or SPH too. (AMC called me back and told me to stop cold calling their clinics ? and no luck with SPH) and they have either given me the run around or told me "no" due to HIIPPA or that their PAs don't want the extra responsibility of a shadow.
Does anyone one know a PA in the area. It seems that the only way to convince a PA for shadow is to have some connections. Cold calling is not working.
I would really appreciate any advice!!  Feel free to DM me.
