How do I prepare for CASPA?

Recommended Posts

Depending on how many schools you plan on applying to, make sure you set aside plenty of time to work on it. It wouldn't hurt to get a copy of your transcripts ahead of time as you will need to manually input all of your courses. You can obviously start working on your personal statement now and start having people look over it if you wish. For me, the PS was the most time consuming part.

In addition to working on your PS, I would make a CASPA account now, if you haven't already, and go through it to familiarize yourself with it.

There is a lot you can do ahead of time, make sure to double check what things transfer from this cycle to the next though. Another unexpected time-consumer is the descriptions of your experiences/volunteering. Like your PS, you can work on these in a separate word doc then copy/paste when the time comes.

Also, make sure you kindly remind your LOR writers that their recommendations are going to be due soon. I plan on reminding mine at the beginning of April, and that they are going to be due during the first week of May...even though there is no hard deadline, my top choice program has rolling admissions.

Another tip, if you have classes from multiple schools, then start to gather your official transcripts so you can manually enter them.

With all that said, I think the PS is the highest priority and just familiarizing yourself with the entire CASPA application will make you more comfortable with the process.

Best,

Emily

I am a PA student, finishing up didactic year right now. Are you stressed and have questions about CASPA, shadowing, volunteering, patient care hours, letter of rec, and your personal statement?? I am willing to help during this stressful time!
I received interview invites from 8 schools and attended 5 interviews. Out of those 5 I was accepted to 4 PA schools and ultimately wound up at my top choice program.
Preparing and applying to PA school is the most stressful part! Let me take some of the stress away for you!
My rates are $15 for a personal statement review, $20 for a 30min zoom call to go over your application, $30 for a 60min zoom call to go over your application. If you want help with something not listed please email me and we will figure something out.

Hey everyone, I am putting together my application for the upcoming cycle. I am at the part where I am inputting my transcript and can't figure out how to classify some courses taken as part of my Health Sciences major which kind of 'umbrellas' subjects under health care.
The course in question is: Marketing in Healthcare.
My dilemma is classifying this under either:

      Hi all,
I am a second semester PA student who was accepted with a low GPA directly out of undergrad. I am holding Zoom Advising sessions where I can help you figure out how you can improve your application and answer any questions you may have about the application process including personal statement review. The cost of each session is $10. Please send me a PM if you are interested! Thank you, and Good luck!
