HPSP time line after graduation

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am a AF HPSP PA student graduating in about month. I thought I would have recieved my assignment/orders by now, but to be honest, I really don’t know when I will be notified on my next steps. I have been told to speak with AFPC, but haven’t been able to receive much answers. Can anyone who has done the HPSP PA route chime in on their process after graduating from PA school? How did you organize your medical insurance during the time frame between school ending and active duty? How much time did you have to take the PANCE before getting “called in”? Would I report directly to OTS then receive orders on where my assignment is after that? Also, how much time does the AF give us to sell our home and move to a new duty station?

Thanks for your input.

Wow, just ten days! Now I am in your situation, about to graduate and still have lots of questions about the next steps. How did it work out for you?

Hello, I am currently preparing for the next application cycle and am curious, how long of a commitment to the Air Force is HPSP? 3 years? I've heard conflicting things.

Air Force HPSP will pay for up to 2 years education w/ a 3 year payback.  Payback does not start until your Active Duty time of service begins (i.e. you start TFOT).
