My comments on giving Naturopaths more controlled substance prescription rights in Washington State:
"As a physician assistant who has practiced medicine in the State of Washington for the past seven years, I have incalculably more real, science-based medical knowledge than any naturopath in Washington State. The assertion that Naturopaths are any sort of a solution to a primary care crisis is not supported by the evidence. The bill is itself nonsensical, as it gives the tools of scientific medicine--known powerful controlled substances--to practitioners not trained in their use. Naturopaths are neither trained nor educated to safely use such medications.

"The better solution to help solve the primary care crisis is HB2378/SB6240, allowing Physician Assistants to fill that role, which is precisely how and why we were educated: in real evidence-based medicine, not unproven alternatives."
