Paid on a Fee Schedule?

Has anyone worked a job where they were paid on a fee schedule? Like you're paid based on your productivity (ie: how many patients you see and how well you document). Or know anyone that has? Thoughts about it? Comments..? I'm considering a position that is structured this way..

if it is fair is a great deal

 

PA's take home 38% of collections

doc take  home 53% collections

 

if you could get to these numbers for the do (or even close) you would be rocking it   ir 45% of  collections

 

(Yup i know you said fee schedule, but you need to drive it off collections)

Only if you, as the provider, have the right to set what insurances you will see, and your own rules for "collect up front from people who've had payment problems in the past"; otherwise, the practice should assume that risk, not you.

Hmm, I guess there's more for me to learn on this topic.. (ie: collections?..)

Thanks for the input! It's a wound care position with patients in various nursing homes, so I think the only insurances will be Medicare/Medicaid.
