ohiovolffemtp
Diagnosed my 1st case of influenza A this year - haven't seen influenza B yet this year. (rural Indiana) Seems early to me. Was wondering what other folks have seen so far this year. If you have seen cases, was it A or B, and what geography.
Cideous
MULTIPLE positive Flu B's here in DFW, several of which presented with vomiting and diarrhea with fever...no cough. Crazy. Usually the things I see in March/April. The take away? If anyone shows up with V/D and have a history of fever? They get flu swabbed.
BirdDogPA
Diagnosed 12 pts last shifts with flu B... practice in the southeast. All had some sort of GI symptom along with the usual fever, body aches.
GetMeOuttaThisMess
I was seeing A/B in DFW area in Oct./Nov. before retiring. Once we established that it was in the community then everyone with the "walk like a duck, etc." presentation would be treated w/o testing. "But I need to be tested!" OK, if test comes back negative then we're not going to give you flu medication. "Oh, ok. How about I just get treated for it." Exceptions would be high risk individuals or those with high risk close contacts.
Administrator rev ronin Posted November 21, 2019 Administrator Share Posted November 21, 2019 Wow, good to know that GI symptoms seem to be more prevalent than typical this year. I've not yet seen a lot here in the PNW, but the state health department says Flu is here in Washington...

greenmood
Yes. My niece was diagnosed with influenza B this week (Chicago), after my kids spent all weekend snuggling with her and they all slept together. I'm very excited about the coming days.
