1/18/20 Kona Interview

Recommended Posts

 Hello,

I received an email this morning noting that the school received both my CASPA and Supplemental applications that I submitted early September. It noted that I satisfied the academic and clinical prerequisites for MEDEX Northwest. But before my application can enter full faculty review it specifically asked if I had any direct connections to Hawaii. If I don't would this hurt my chances for an interview?

I’m not too sure but I would just be honest! The person who started this thread is from Utah (I believe) and got an interview invite to the upcoming MEDEX in Hawaii! :)

This is true. I don't have any ties to Hawaii whatsoever and I answered as such. Needless to say I'm stoked to have an interview. You can only answer honestly.

What date is the Kona interview.  I am confused by the 1/18/19 date since that is in the past [emoji846] Is it in November or January.  Looking toward Alaska and wondering if interviews are being pushed into January.  Thanks!

Hey there! Did you get an interview invite as well? [emoji4] And I believe it’s 01/18/20.

Unfortunately not, I didn't select Kona as one of my two, was a very difficult choice.  Being from Alaska, Kona is an annual trip, at least!  Ultimately, felt I would be too distracted there being a triathlete 😉 Best of luck to all of you with interviews!

My wife and I are both from Utah, but have family that lives on Maui. We were both invited to interview on the 18th of January as well and look forward to meeting you guys!

Has anyone had any experience with University of Washington or ever interviewed with another MEDEX program?

I am currently in my didactic year here at MEDEX - UW Tacoma.  I'd be happy to answer any questions.

@Dani27 Are you willing to/can you shed some light on the interview process? I received information in the mail regarding interview day, and it seems really rigorous! I'm interested as to how they're going to interview multiple candidates and have different stations in a hotel ballroom. 😛
