Rr2019
Hi everyone! I recently accepted my first full time job for a hospital in NY. The schedule is three 12’s with a 100k base salary / benefits / all the bells and whistles. I’m looking into picking up 1 per diem shift per week and found an opportunity in plastics. From what I’ve heard, PA’s should make more money hourly as a per diem compared their full time job considering the per diem position isn’t providing benefits ect. If this is the case and my full time hourly rate is around $51/hr, what should I be asking for as a per diem? And is there a source of reliable information regarding this so I can negotiate? Thanks! MediMike
Per diem rates vary considerably and I've never found a good source for comparison. Academic critical care I was pulling between $125-150/hr Non-academic critical care $80 The academic position reimbursed us at the same rates as fellows/residents picking up shifts which was really nice.
