Hey y'all I'm also from cohort 5 and wanted to answer anyone's questions! Congrats on getting in and for those who are waitlisted don't worry, we had at least 8-10 people accepted off the waitlist because a lot of people ended up accepting offers closer to home. I also live on campus for whoever had a question about that! I live in the townhomes, get on the waitlist ASAP! I was 65 on the list and still got one but it wasn't until like 3 weeks before the semester started. I had another place lined up but hadn't signed the lease and went with this instead!

Thank you for the encouragement! I was also waitlisted. How did you know you were 65th on the list?

She means she was 65 on the waitlist for on campus housing not the program waitlist. When you get on the list for housing they tell you where you are on the list.

What she said! They won't tell you your waitlist position. Grad housing will tell you your waitlist position for housing. I don't know how many are on the waitlist but you can be accepted right up until the start date which will be January 6 for y'all

On the wait list for Housing - what kind of housing is this?  University housing (ie dorms) apartments, etc? Not finding apartments available.

Townhomes and there are some apartments that the school owns. Graduate students don’t live in the dorms. There are some other places that ms. Riggs will send out sometime I’m not sure when though. Housing is kinda scarce in Williamsburg. A lot of people I’m my cohort ended up renting a place together.

How did you get on the waitlist?

I guess they are doing it different this year because I had to reach out to the office of operations who runs the graduate housing program to get on the waitlist. So I guess go with whatever Ms. Riggs says, that will probably be easier

Hey everyone!

Does anyone know if they are still interviewing for Fall 2020 class on the Northern Campus? I'm thinking of applying, but not sure if it will be too late. It says that apps are due 3/1/2020.

Good luck everyone!

Lauren

If you are on he wait list for Williamsburg - good luck.  I just gave up my spot in Januarys class...

Hopefully this will make someone's day to get that phone call for the open seat.

It was a hard choice, especially knowing now I have to wait longer to start...I appreciated the opportunity, loved the campus and the faculty.

To whomever gets my seat - MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Congrats to all the others that have already received the call.

For those still waiting...Do NOT give up, stay positive.

Lauren,

I was thinking the same thing! I think I will go ahead and submit my application and see how it goes.

To anyone still waitlisted for the Williamsburg campus, I gave up my seat that came up last week due to acceptance to another program. Good luck to the next in line! 🙂

Hey all!

i just wanted to check in with those who will be attending UCPA in January and just see how y’all are feeling! Ik our cohort had a groupme and a Facebook page and were all kinda freaking out trying to get our ducks in a row. It’s so intimidating trying to get everything together in a short time. Let me know if y’all have any questions!

im excited to see y’all soon and congrats again!

Is the Northeast Pre-PA Conference legitimate? If it is, could anyone verify if it's safe to pay through the following eventbrite link:
      https://www.eventbrite.com/e/second-annual-northeast-pre-physician-assistant-conference-tickets-66535863559?aff=erelexpmlt

I'm honestly just clueless about conferences in general. This would be my first Pre-PA conference and I want to make sure it's a reputable conference and that it is safe to purchase tickets through the above link. If there is an actual event elsewhere, please inform me!
      Thank you all in advance!

Looking for some advice- I plan on applying the 2021 cycle but I’m a bit neurotic and really just need to plan out everything ahead of time.
My cgpa and sgpa will both be around a 3.25 (currently taking post bacc classes) if I continue with an upwards trend. I should have around 2000-3000 PCE by the time I apply, I’m currently an ER scribe, volunteer EMT.
I have about 30 PA shadowing hours but I work with a lot more pa’s in the ER now so I’ll be shadowing them; I've done some other pce work like PT aid, I also went on a medical mission trip to Nicaragua through Global Medical Brigades and worked in a community health clinic.
Will also be taking the GRE soon.
I guess I’m just very afraid of getting denied, idk if I should continue to take classes at cc and boost my gpa even more (super hard bc I messed up my first two years of college) or should I do a masters? My gpa is holding me back a lot, I am trying to shine in other aspects of my app but I’m a bit lost and I just know that I want to be a PA more than anything. Are there any specific schools any of you would recommend looking more into? Anything else I can do to better my chances/ app? If you have any insight please lmk!!

Hello All pre-PA students! We know how difficult the application process for PA school can be, and we are hoping to make it just a little easier.
Loma Linda University is holding their 3rd annula pre-PA conference to help prospective students learn more about the profession, application process, and our program.
Spend the day with Faculty, local PAs, alumni, and current students! Our main speaker for this event is Tony Adkins PA-C or more popularly known as the "dancing doc".  We will be hosting ultrasound and intubation skills labs as well as several information sessions pertaining to writing your personal statement, how to ace the interview, general Q&A, and profession information.  The goal is to show you how to become a competitive applicant!
DON'T MISS THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT APPLYING TO PA SCHOOL!
LLU PA Program Admission Representatives will be in attendance. Past attendees have been accepted to LLU's PA program. Refreshments will be provided, and there will also be raffle prizes given away every hour!

I'm currently a junior in college and have decided to switch career paths from a dietitian to a PA. I don't have any PCE hours (except for some volunteer EMS hours in high school) so I am wondering the timeline for how I would apply to PA school if I took a gap year. I am a college athlete so I can only obtain very minimal HCE hours during the academic year and thus plan on taking a gap year to work as a PT aide and volunteer EMT. From what I have researched most PA school applications open up in June for the program to start the following year, and there is no way I could get the minimum amount of hours before applying. If I take a gap year after my senior year, then apply to school, this would mean waiting two years to begin school. Is it possible to complete PCE hours after applying, or do you think it would be a better idea to strengthen my application through two years of experience as an EMT & PT aide. Thanks in advance!
