Opening an urgent care.

Recommended Posts

Currently a hospitalist PA, but did my first locums Urgent Care shift. I have some background in observation and ER medicine so went out on a limb did Solo coverage in a small rural community. Saw about 30 some patients. Most were pretty cut and dry but it was actually a lot of fun. As someone who has a business degree and loves projects I could really see myself enjoy building a practice. That might change if I work a couple shifts during flu season, but I really did enjoy the urgent care experience.

Anyone have any advice/experience about working in or running/owning an urgent care? Seems like if done right could be both an asset for the community and very lucrative from a business standpoint.
